Cerno Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This policy explains how subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds work for the Cerno app and website (the "Service"), provided by CERNO GROUP LTD (company number 16882401). It forms part of our Terms of Service.
We've written this to be clear and fair. In short: you get immediate access to what you pay for, subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel, you can cancel any time, and we don't offer discretionary "changed my mind" refunds — but your legal rights as a consumer always apply.
1. Immediate access to digital content
Cerno's paid features are digital content supplied to you immediately after payment. So that you can start using them right away, we begin providing access as soon as your payment is confirmed.
Because you get immediate access, you agree at checkout that:
you want us to provide immediate access to the paid content now, and you understand that you will lose your legal "cooling-off" right to cancel and get a refund once access begins.
You give this agreement by ticking the box provided at checkout before you pay. This is required by law and is how immediate access works.
2. Your 14-day cooling-off right, and how immediate access affects it
Normally, consumers who buy online have a 14-day cooling-off period to change their mind. For digital content supplied immediately, this right ends once access begins, provided you agreed to immediate access and to losing the cooling-off right (see section 1).
- If you agreed to immediate access (the normal case): once your access has begun, the 14-day cooling-off right no longer applies, and we do not refund on a "changed my mind" basis.
- If for any reason you did not agree to immediate access, or access had not yet begun, your 14-day cooling-off right applies and you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund of that purchase.
This section reflects UK law (the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Consumers in the EU and some other countries have equivalent cooling-off rights and the same immediate-access rule.
3. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
- Bought on our website (via Stripe): go to your account settings and cancel there.
- Bought through the Apple App Store: cancel in your Apple account subscription settings.
- Bought through Google Play: cancel in your Google Play subscription settings.
When you cancel:
- your subscription will not renew again;
- you keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for; and
- we do not provide partial refunds for the remaining part of a period you have already paid for, except where the law requires it or where we have chosen to (see sections 4 and 5).
We do not charge any fee to cancel, and cancelling is as simple as signing up.
4. Refunds — our general position
Because you receive immediate access to digital content, we do not offer refunds for change of mind, for periods already started, or for features you chose not to use. Subscriptions run until you cancel, and cancelling stops future renewals rather than refunding past ones.
This is our standard commercial position and it is set out clearly so you can decide before you buy.
Two things to note:
- If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules, and we cannot process or override them. You would need to request any refund directly from Apple or Google.
- Nothing in this section removes the legal rights described in section 5.
5. When you are legally entitled to a remedy or refund
Our "no discretionary refunds" position does not, and cannot, take away your statutory consumer rights. You are entitled to a remedy — which may include a repair, a replacement, a price reduction, or a refund — in situations such as:
- the paid content is faulty, not as described, or not fit for a purpose we told you it was suitable for (in the UK, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; equivalent laws apply elsewhere);
- we fail to deliver the paid features you bought;
- we significantly reduce what a paid tier includes during a period you have already paid for; or
- the law of your country otherwise requires it.
If any of these apply, contact us at info@cerno.group and we will put it right in line with your rights. We will not ask you to give up these rights, and any term that tried to do so would not be binding.
6. Free trials and promotions
If we offer a free trial or promotional period, we will tell you clearly, before you start, how long it lasts, what happens when it ends, the price you will then be charged, and how to cancel before being charged. We will remind you before a trial converts to a paid subscription where the law requires. You can cancel during the trial to avoid being charged.
7. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and may pause your access until payment succeeds. If we cannot take payment, your subscription may end.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the current version, and any change will apply to purchases made after it takes effect. As our subscription features develop and as new UK subscription rules come into force, we will update this policy to stay compliant.
