Cerno Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the Cerno website and app (the "Service"). It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, provided by CERNO GROUP LTD (company number 16882401).
By using the Service, you agree to follow this AUP.
1. Use the Service lawfully and fairly
You may use Cerno only for lawful purposes and for your own personal learning and development. You must not use the Service in any way that breaks the law, infringes someone else's rights, or is fraudulent or harmful.
2. Things you must not do
You must not:
- Break the law or encourage others to, or use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- Harm or harass others — including bullying, threatening, or abusing other users or our staff, or posting or sending content that is hateful, harassing, or discriminatory.
- Endanger children — the Service is used by people aged 13 and over; any content or conduct that exploits, endangers, or is harmful to minors is strictly forbidden and may be reported to the authorities.
- Post unlawful or infringing content through any messaging, feedback, or contact feature — including content that infringes intellectual property, is defamatory, obscene, or violates someone's privacy.
- Copy or misuse our content — you must not copy, scrape, republish, resell, or redistribute our exercises, word banks, text, or other content, or use it to build or train a competing product, except where the law says we cannot stop you.
- Attack or interfere with the Service — including introducing malware, attempting to gain unauthorised access, probing or scanning our systems, overloading or disrupting the Service, or bypassing security or usage limits.
- Automate access improperly — no bots, scrapers, or automated collection of data from the Service without our written permission.
- Misrepresent yourself — no impersonating others, creating accounts for someone under 13, or providing false registration information.
- Abuse the free tier or promotions — for example, creating multiple accounts to evade limits or exploit free trials.
- Interfere with payment or licensing — including circumventing subscription controls or accessing paid features without paying.
3. Content you submit
If the Service lets you submit content (for example, feedback, messages, or — in future features — notes or contributions), you are responsible for it. It must be your own or something you have the right to share, and it must comply with this AUP. We may remove content that breaches this AUP and may report unlawful content to the authorities.
4. Reporting misuse
If you see something on the Service that breaches this AUP, or that concerns you — especially anything involving the safety of a young person — please tell us at info@cerno.group so we can act.
5. What happens if you break these rules
If you breach this AUP, we may — depending on how serious it is — issue a warning, remove content, limit features, suspend or close your account, and, where appropriate, involve law enforcement. Where it is fair to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first. Serious breaches may result in immediate termination without refund, to the extent allowed by law.
6. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the current version, and we will tell you about significant changes.
