Cerno — Privacy, explained simply (for users aged 13–17)

Last updated: 28 July 2026

Hi 👋 This is a short, plain-language version of our Privacy Policy, written for you if you're 13 to 17. It explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Our full Privacy Policy has all the detail — but this covers the important parts.

Who we are

Cerno is made by a UK company called CERNO GROUP LTD. You can reach us any time at info@cerno.group.

You need to be 13 or older

You have to be at least 13 to use Cerno. If you're under 13, you can't have an account yet.

What we collect

  • Your account details — like your email, a username, your age, and a password (we scramble your password so no one can read it).
  • How you use Cerno — the exercises you do, your scores, your streaks, words you've learned, and your progress. This is how Cerno helps you improve.
  • Some technical info — like the type of device you use and which country you're in (not your exact location — we don't track where you are).

Why we use it

  • To run your account and show you your progress.
  • To make Cerno work well and get better.
  • To keep Cerno safe and fair for everyone.

Things we promise you

  • We don't sell your information. Ever.
  • We don't use your information to show you adverts or build an advertising profile of you.
  • Your privacy settings start on the most private option — you don't have to change anything to be protected.
  • We only send you extra emails (like news) if you say yes, and you can always say no later.

Your choices and rights

You're in control of your information. You can ask us to:

  • show you what we have about you,
  • fix anything that's wrong,
  • delete your information, or
  • stop using it in certain ways.

Just email info@cerno.group and we'll help. It's free, and we'll never treat you differently for asking.

Parents and guardians

We're building a feature that will let a parent or guardian help manage an account or see progress. If that happens on your account, we'll tell you clearly what they can and can't see. Your privacy matters to us, even from the adults in your life.

If something worries you

If anything about your privacy — or anything on Cerno — worries you, tell us at info@cerno.group. If you ever feel unsafe, please also talk to an adult you trust.
